So what I would like to know is this.........If I was to make a card using one of your designs, say for example it was a vase of flowers which is set on a coloured background or has a border, and I sent this in to CUP as a card makers entry, how would you feel if you saw only the vase of flowers, minus the background etc. But using a background or something that I had personally made. Such as, a different colour background, or placed on an embossed pattern, that type of thing. Would you be offended that I had made a change???
I love all the designers work, and really do use all of the original design, but occasionally I like to make a card look different to the last one I made.
Hope you all understand what I am trying to ask you!!

Sheila

Hi Sheila,

I totally understand where you are coming from its isnt until you sit down with all your crafting bits around you that you suddenly get massive inspiration.

I wouldn't be offended at all....go for it girl is what i say!!

Hi Sheila

I wouldn't be offended if you did that with one of my designs. I know as a crafter myself that I wouldn't want to just use the product as it is, and I would add my own creativity to it! Of course, my designs are ideal for the beginner as they just use the product as is, and don't have to worry about sourcing other items, or colour matching etc. So I would expect the experienced crafter to use my designs in whatever way they wish, when making cards, apart from selling the original design as a sheet, of course!!!

I agree, it is so fun to see how my designs turn out as finished cards. I love the added inspiration and creativity that the card maker adds to the original design. I am not offended if not all of the original elements are put into the finished card design.

Hi Sheila

I wouldn't be offended at all...this is part of being a card maker and getting creative. Our sheets are not meant to be followed step by step they are there to start you off on your cardmaking journey. I know myself that when I start a card or design sheet that I have a "vision" in my head of what the card will look like but usually it ends up totally different lol. Just have fun with our sheets and enjoy x Dee x

Hi Sheila,

I wouldn't be offended by you cropping off bits of my sheets or using them in any way that you feel inspired. Cardmaking is all about creativity.

I don't seem to have a Designer's badge at the moment but I'll ask Bob how I get one. In the meantime you can find my sheets by accessing Katie Rose in the Designer's section

Hi Sheila
I have no problem with that. Once you have bought the sheet it is yours to do with as you wish as far as I am concerned. I expect people to use extra embellishments and peel offs etc, so there is not reason not to use a different backing paper if you have one you like better.

As far as I'm concerned I love to see what people have done with my sheets. I often think, wow, I would never have thought of doing that but it looks great!

Best wishes,
Sheila.
