When you click on the paintbucket, in photoshop you then have to choose either foreground or pattern to fill, then bobs your uncle.....

Now i can fill and i can make the pattern, what i can't do is the seamless bit, do you have to make the seamless bit in photoshop yourself?

I normally get a picture, make it tiny then define pattern, when you flood this then it does leave 'edges' how do you get the semaless bit?

Thanks
Helen

I just tried it with a tile and it worked great! I have Photoshop as well. First you have to use a Plug-in called Quick Tile that makes the tile "tileable" (in otherwords when the tile is bumped up against another of the same one, it is seamless), then save it as a Pattern. Then you are free to use it as Fill. Worked great! Thanks for this tip! I've been doing the the hard way...one tile at a time....lining them up by hand! oy! lol

I find that the best results for seamless tiles are those I make myself ie not using a tile maker as these just replicate lots of the same image making a very boring and sometimes very odd looking background. So I very carefully make sure that whatever goes out at the top of my tile comes in at the bottom and the same with the sides. In this way I can make tiles that are not only seamless but which do exactly what I want them to do. One good tip though is to work big and then you can use them at lots of different sizes without any loss of quality!

I have made a few by hand, they seem to be less regimented then, more arty lol....

For the ones that have white around the image it isn't a problem, but when i do want a regimented seamless i may get that plugin....is it free?

Helen....enjoying may day off from all things card and design related (well almost)
