printing

Hi I am new to this, I have purchased some downloads to make cards, when I come to print them I have a wizard that comes up but I can only print certain sizes none of which I can find a blank card to fit. I usually get my blanks from card creations. Where do you get ones to fit?

As far as I know, all the design sheets to make cards bought from CUP are to be printed onto A4 sized paper or cardstock. They can then be cut out to fit on the relevant size of base card.

Hi Jenny
choose the a4 size on your printer options and then fit to page
as all sheets on cup are made to fit a a4

It depends where you live. If you live in USA or Canada or Australia(?), you cannot use the A4 option, as we use Imperial measurements rather than metric. So if you're in an imperial location, you could look for the "fit to page" option on your printer wizard. You actually could do that where ever you live, but the sizing would be off just a bit. Experiment a bit until you find what works best for you.

If the sheet/kit you're printing is for an A5 sized card, I like to print mine at 90%, or 10% reduction, that way, it fits letter-size paper and will make an almost perfect 5x7 card.

If you are in metric-land, feel free to ignore all the above babble!

Shouldn't that only be the USA?

Because Australia only uses A4. And I think Canada is A4 too.

Its only the US that uses Letter size.

Although we have letter size in our printer settings, we cannot purchase 'letter' size paper here (and Canada??)

Your best bet is to set printer to 'fit paper size'. You can also reduce the print size to less (eg 50%) so 2 would be printed per page if you want smaller images.

But all sheets sold on CUP are basically designed to print out perfectly on an A4 size sheet.
Printers dont have 'card size' settings. You have to print out at full or reduced size, cut and put onto your cards.

Some of us in Metric land still think in Imperial Jolis, but you are all right. Some wizards won't let you do what you want to do.
When I download my purchases,I automatically get them as A4.As soon as I have done this I print them all out(again A4) & check the size of the backplate. If it is too big for what I want,I then scan the image(here I get a chance to re-size etc) & save. Then I go to where I've saved the scan & click print. On THIS wizard I get several print size options - A4/half page/ third of a page etc.
This might all sound a bit involved, but as I had to teach myself, believe me - this is the easiest option I could come up with. Gillie xxx
