Totally agree that it is a learning curve. I've had PSPX for a few years now and I'm still learning!

I've recently downloaded a trial version of PSP7 simply to get all the textures, gradients, frames, tubes, etc. which were wiped from PSPX by Corel. I've found some fab new things!

Here's another good site for good, clear tutorials and some lovely gradients to download:

Nansons Graphics

Also if you see a good tutorial for an earlier version and can't find a command which it uses in PSPX (probably works with newer versions too) (e.g. I've been looking for one called "black and white points" previously under "color adjust") go to:

View
Customize
Commands
Unused commands

Then drag the one you want onto your toolbar. Most of the old commands are there but "hidden".

Sounds like whatever you are doing, the item that you have copied is maybe going behind the layer you have copied from. Can you move the layers about. I think psp is similar to photoshop and in photoshop you can move your layers about by clicking on them and by keeeping your mouse clicked, drag and move the layer to another position in the layers palette. Another thing you can do in the layers palette is to hide the layers by clicking on the eye beside them. Again you can do this in photoshop, but not sure about psp.

Hi Lorraine - I am no expert at psp yet & I am sure one of the more experienced designers will come along & give you some help but it may be that if you are trying to paste an image onto a template you will have to paste as a new layer & this should come up in your layers palette where you can work from there. As Annelies said you will then have an eye beside you layers which you can open or close. I now hope an expert psp designer comes along just to verify what I have put in my message hope this helps Sandra
