Hi Edna

.gsd files are cutting files for the CraftROBO and they open in the ROBO Master software that comes with the CraftROBO.

No I don't have a cutting machine. I was looking through he sheets to buy and saw the ones I bought because I liked them. I did not know what GSD was never heard of it.. So bought nine sheets. only one of these was a downloadable one. . so I could download that one. So now have eights sheets that are going to waste. grrrr.... I ahve checked the web to see if I can get any software to enable me to open these files. but don't even know what I am looking for......Take care Edna.x

Unfortunately Edna

You will have to get in touch with the CUPS Admin and let them know that you purchased the Files in Error because you haven't got a Cutting machine. When you were purchasing the files did it not tell you that you would need an Electronic cutter.

Edna that is a shame but I am sure cup woll sort you out, it is always handy to have an unzipper this one comes on automatically called JustZIPit it is free to dowmload, and works itself when anything needs to open, it will probably open your GSD file but as said you wont be able to use them xxx Margaret

It's not a case of not being able to download Edna, you should be able to download any file you've bought. The issue is that once you've downloaded this type of file, and saved it to your PC, you don't have a CraftROBO electronic cutting machine with the software that goes with this, so you won't be able to open and use the files.

When somebody puts any sort of cutting file into their Cart, as has already been said, there's usually a big warning about having a cutting file in your basket. I see a box that says "Please note that you have at least one CRAFT ROBO Cutting File in your basket. You need special hardware and software to use these files!" when I've got .gsd cutting or Print & Cut files in my cart.

The cutting files come zipped up as .zip files that you need to un-zip with whichever zipping/unzipping software you have on your PC (or as has already been said, there are free software available that you can download from the Internet if you don't already have any zip software).

There are even places on the Internet where you can download a piece of software called "Silhouette Studio" that will allow you to open .gsd files. But this still wouldn't help you as you don't have the necessary cutting machine to cut out whichever designs you've happened to buy.

As has already been suggested, you can contact the CUP Support Team to see if they can help you out, but as CUP do warn about having cutting files in carts before you go to checkout they may not be able to help you out but there's no harm in asking.

Hi Ladies thanks for your comments.
G.G. I did see the warning at the bottom of the page after I had purchased the sheets and was unable to open the files. I was thinking of the finished cards I could make.. oops... I have wrote to cup. and just explained that I have not got the machine to the GSD.,.
I am so annoyed with myself. but did not know about these machines. We live and learn so they say. (at a price) I did manage to rescue one sheet that I purchases which was just a normal sheet. grrrrrrr I could kick myself.....Will see what response I get from my ticket I have just sent in to cup.......Lovely day here in SToke-on-Trent..
Have a good day.....xx

As you like the designs available as cutting files perhaps you should just put the CraftROBO on your wish list?
