Ah Sarah, that's one of those questions isn't it??? it's a hard 1 honey, I know that I have cards at my sisters work and I've been getting anything from £3-£5 depending on what cards are bought, but in general most of my cards sell for around £3-£4, some of the easier 1s I've been making for Xmas will be selling at around £1.50 but the 1s that have a fair bit of work in them are a minimum of £3-£4. It's difficult not underpricing, but you also don't want to over price, so middle of the road is the way to go honey, all depending on the quality and effort in your cards xx Ask a few of your friends and family what they would "honestly" pay, get a rough guide that way xxx hope you do really well honey TC Diane xx

It is a problem Sarah as Diane has said. My wife sells hers between £2-£3.50 depending on the work she has put into it. It is a fine line between over pricing and under pricing. Good luck anyway.

Hi Sarah,

I still sell cards and they vary in price. I do most to order now where people like the work you've done and order something more specific to their needs. These bespoke card requests usually come with their own price range as the person will tell you what they want to spend (usually more than they would on a general card).

I started with geenral parties for family and friends - they're the most honest and won't order if they don't think it's worth it. Have a look in the shops for cards similar to yours and knock of 30%ish. Like Diane says - don't underprice to start with. That said it's important not to go too high. The one thing with earning from your hobby is that peopel never expect to pay an hourly rate and if that's what you expect you stop enjoying the making.

Find your market, Match your items - as best you can - to the current market with a reduction and see how they go. It can take a while but friends tell their friends who tell their friends and it's nice when the requests come to you.

Good luck

Kim

Hi Sarah
The price l sell mine for it's between 1£ for very simple card to5£ for the big or exclusive once. But the most selling cards are A6 (folded a5) and l normally charge 1,80 - 2,50. It all depends what l put on them and how much work.

My cards range from 2 euros to 4 euros depending on what I have had to do and what embellishments there are. If the A5 card is in a box then I add on the price of the box.

Living abroad I have to take into consideration the cost of postage if buying via the net from UK distributers.

i would recommend going through a few crafty websites, like Etsy, shophandmade, dewanda etc. and just shop around. take note of each card you see in different categories and do about an average. once you build up an reputation you can add or lower your price.
