Embossing Machine

Hi what do you recommend as the best embossing machine that will take most if not all makes of embossing folders? I already have a craft robo for cutting out but would love something for embossing cos as yet the craft robo doesn't do this

I have a bigshot that takes most if not all embossing folders, but if it's just the smaller embossing folders like cuttlebug then a cheap paster maker will do the trick for you... and they do sell quite cheaply compared to a die cutting machine

Thank you Ruth for asking this question. I have been thinking along the same lines. I wanted to ask the question really, but I find myself with a long list of queries at the top of the page and nobody else asking for help. I feel a real "Technopratt".
I seem to have heard/read somewwhere that you can emboss with the Craft Robo, by using a spent/empty ballpoint pen. If this is possible I would love to know how it is done
Looking forward to your answer to Ruth's quetion, Tina.

All the very best to you both, John.

Hi Ruth

I'm not an expert on embossing/die-cutting machines. I've seen a lot demonstrated on TV of course and realise that they come in many different sizes. If you have some specific embossing folders in mind then make a note of the measurements and manufacturers and then do some research into any machine you've got in mind to make sure that they have a large enough embossing plate and can use the embossing folders you want to use. There's no point buying a Cuttlebug if you want to use one of the new A4 templates you can use for embossing, but there's no point splashing out on a high end machine with an A4 base plate if the biggest size you want to emboss is A6. Have a look on places such as eBay for good deals. You may be lucky in getting a bundle that somebody is selling on because they've upgraded to one of the larger machines.

Yes Ruth a good old pasta maker will do what you need for embossing, just stick your card in the folder and roll through the paster maker any cheap on e will do as long as you can get the folders in....

Tina, are you joking? Norma has the Kenwood Chef complete with all the attachments, including a Pasta maker!
Wait while I tell her that I am going to use her beloved Kenwood Chef for my card making. lol .lol.

PS. What embossing folders would it take? Some that are not too expensive, I hope!.
Norma also has a manual Pasta Maker, so perhaps that would be best rather than use her expensive Chef! Hey! Hey!.

PPS. Just had a word with Norma about her Pasta Maker. She gave me the "Lakeland Catalogue" There is one in there for £21. 99. lol lol. We have to go through to Norwich next Friday, (I have to go to the Diabetes Clinic about Retinal Damage), and she says we can have a look in there and see about buying a new one. Doesn't care for the idea of using a food utensil for Hobby Craft! She also gave me a £5 voucher to spend there! lol lol.
Wilkinson's are opening a new store there, so she wants to visit that.
Now it's just a matter fo looking out for the right embossing folders. Another cracking tip from Tina. Thanks again Tina.

Oh John don't tell Norma it was me that gave you the idea!!!!! Lots of people can't afford to just buy new cutting machines for little things so the cheaper version will do the trick..
