Love the new rule

For the Christmas cardmaking competition that voting will only be open to registered crafters and designers. This means that it is even more fair because people will not be able to get all their family friends and whole craft club members to vote

It does seem fairer on the surface, here comes the doom and gloom squad. Are there enough designers and crafters to vote a clear winner?

I totally agree with you Dianne, it's bound to be a fairer system than seeing family, friends, etc., joining Craftforums only to vote for a specific person's card at the end of each month, but we don't see them as active members the rest of the month.

I don't think we need to worry about the numbers of people that are eligible to vote. I've just taken a look at the CUP site and see that there are over 200 designers listed and over 400 Registered Crafters. I'd think that if only a proportion of these are Craftforum members and placed a vote we could easily have as many votes as last month. The difficult thing will be to presuaded those who are aligible to vote to show an interest, become involved, have a good look at all the entries and place a vote. And if there isn't a clear winner - well there was a tie last month.

I really cannot see that it could be any fairer than this. It should not be about how many people you can get to join the forum just to vote because they know you, even though it was annonymouse you can easily explain to family and friends what your card is like and what line it is on. This will be interesting now to see how this works out

I thought the position of the entries changed around. I'm sure when I've looked in the past that if I went in one day and looked and came back the next to take another look before voting that things were moved round. Could be wrong.........but if this was the case then telling someone which line and position one was on wouldn't work

But I was looking through the list of Forum members a couple of weeks ago after it had been stated in a mailer how many people were forum members and there is sooooooooooo many there that have never posted. Probably the reason why, people have joined just to vote on their 'mates' cards.

This has to make the voting a lot fairer!!! Good move CUP

Hi Vicky, The position only changed when people were still upllading cards. Once the competition closed and voting started the cards all kept in the same place
