Hi Trixie
Well whoever asked you to make a joint Christmas and birthday card is being so unfair! I bet that the recipient is one of those who complain that people are forever giving a joint gift.
But if your commission is for a joint card all in one I suppose that's what you have to do. What about a double easel card with happy birthday on one side and happy Christmas on the other. Something like a winter scene, perhaps with frost and snow, but that would be suitable for birthday as well as Christmas. Not sure. Difficult one this. GG

Hi Girls, Thankyou so much for the ideas, I think the easel card sounds great so will let you know how I get on, the lady also wanted a bit of religion in it as well. If I manage to do it I will try and post a picture. Thankyou again......Trixie.

How mean this person is.It's bad enough having your birthday at xmas without only getting one card.My mum's birthday is xmas eve and she always gets two.Gwenyth's idea is a great one.You could also use winter flowers such as xmas roses which are lovely.

Hi Trixie.Having a birthday on the 20th Dec myself & a daughter born Xmas Day,I can understand the dillemma. As a child(immediately after WW2) I had to choose whether I had 2 tiny presents or 1 good one & if the latter whether to get it on my birthday or at xmas.
Gwyneth's suggestion sounds good.Have you considered one of those reverse cards I've seen here? The front could be a nativity scene with a winter backdrop & when turned around,it would be 2 sides folded onto each other to open out with the winter scene on either side & you could put an appropriate picture backing onto the nativity scene.
I'm not explaining myself very well, but I'm sure someone out there can explain it better for you. xxx
