Question A difficult verse!

I know this sounds a silly question but ... What can you put in a Christmas card for someone that has recently lost their husband?

Can you still wish them a Happy Christmas?

Not a silly question at all I know that last year when I was at my Xmas stall I had a lady ask for a card to send to someone who had just lost their husband, I think to have the word happy is maybe a bit insensitive to some, so, what could you put instead of Happy Xmas??? Xmas wishes?? with loving thoughts at Xmas ??? At Xmas time??? let it snow?? or, if it's for an insert then why not use words form a Xmas carol?? maybe try that?? it's not an easy 1 that's for sure, good luck with it xxx TC Diane xx

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks for that Diane. I think I might try the Christmas carol suggestion.

With Christmas comes the falling snow
with Christmas trees and mistletoe
The evening star will shine so bright
and love of friends will hold you tight
to keep you close in every way
at Cristmas time and every day

Good advice there from our Diane. (as usual). Really love that verse from Debra. Will have to remember that one, John.

Great responses If itīs true then "thinking of you this Christmas" it shows they are not forgotten and it is a soft acknowledgement

Aww that's a lovely verse Debra. It is so difficult to try and find the right words when someone has passed at any time of year but with Christmas it's especially hard as everything is merry, happy and glad.
I struggled with this one a couple of years back when an old friend lost his wife through cancer, in the end I chose not to use a verse and used the insert of the card to write a short personal note.

My nephew passed away about 6 weeks ago, I had the same dilemma, I decided not to send a card to my brother and sister in law but call them instead, that way they know I am still thinking about them.
