Hi Rae, I'm just catching up with my posts (not sure if that's the right terminology), please forgive me for taking so long to reply to you. I've actually just fired off a reply to Gail Pennycuick about the same thing. I'm not to sure how to proceed from here. Any advice would be great.

Gabrielle honey, here's what I did, I waited til I had a few interested members, once names were being popped into my thread I contacted charities so that I had the names of a few ready for when cards started to come in, use this thread to get peoples names, but, as I said PM your address to members who want to take part, in Australia are there charities for children, for animals, cancer etc I tried to make sure I was contacting a wide variety of charities, each month pick a charity, so for instance your 1st charitiy may be a childrens charity, let the charity know that you'll be donating to them, ask them if they have their own charity stickers and if they could send you some to pop onto the display bags that each card comes in, this way it's not up to you to sell the cards and hand monies raised to the charities, it's up to them to do it via their shops or fundraising events xx my group has helped 11 different charities and we decided to stick with those 11 and go around them again to show continued support, get out your local phone book, find charities and once you've got a few names start making those calls xx get in touch with me if you need any help honey xx TC Diane xx

Red face

Thanks for your reply, Gabrielle.

I'm not that used to being on forums myself, but this is such a forgiving one that it doesn't seem to matter! I frequently forget to go back and check if there's any response to posts I've done....there's so many areas here that's not hard to do.

Anyway, I think pms are basically for private things between 2 people or for private emails/addresses. If you wish you could pm Rae or me and give us your email address, then communications can just be between us. But having this info on the forum means that others may see it and join in also.

As Diane suggests, perhaps a look in the phone book or googling Aussie charities would get some starters. Email or phone calls could elicit the information as to whether they are interested in selling our cards, and as Diane says, see if they have stickers to put on them, or i guess they could put them on themselves.

I'm guessing that charities with shops everywhere are going to be the easiest to drop cards into; if you post them it could get a bit expensive. Once you get going you'd need to pm your address to card contributors so they can post them to you.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Gail =)
