G'day to all the Aussies on the forum and a very happy new year to you all!! I joined the forum a few weeks ago and noticed Diane Scotland's great idea to raise money for charities in the UK. I'd like to be involved in this but think that the cost of sending cards to the UK is a bit expensive so I thought 'why not do it in Australia?' So if any of you clever and talented (sweet talk!!) Australian card makers would be interested in doing the same downunder please let me know - I'd be pleased to be the 'admin person', although not sure just how Diane coordinates it all, but I'm sure I can learn

I'm not really a cardmaker as such I prefer to design but there is some brilliant cardmakers from Aussieland so I hope they will help you out!!

Hi Gabrielle xx it seems so long ago now that I started up Charity Cards, in fact, it'll be 2 years this coming June !!! How do I do it?? here goes..... 1stly of course you need people to take part, once you have people willing to take part you then work out a list of charities that are in Australia that are able to take hand made cards to sell, once you have a list of willing volunteers and a list of charities you'll then need to give your address out to those taking part, DON'T put your address on the forum, do it via PM xx Each month a different charity is chosen, all the lovely girls who take part in mines then start making up cards, they put inserts in and pop the finished cards with their envelopes into clear display bags then package them up to send to me, I get the charities to send me their own stickers to pop on the display bag of each and every card, this has been known to be over 300 cards !!! the girls have 4 weeks to send them to me, once I have all the cards I drop them off to the charities. I also started a challenge each month, helps to keep everyone interested. I've only just discovered your thread via Diane's which I also only just found. (I'm not slow, just get distracted with other threads and then look at the time and think...good grief! LOL)

I'd be happy to do some cards, monthly when I can. I live in rural NSW and am just starting to get a bit of selling happening with my cards, though not enough to pay for my craft yet, ROFL!

Hi Gail, thanks for your support. However my problem is I have no idea where to go to from here. I don't normally sell my cards at markets etc, but through my church. Any money raised goes to our mission field in Thailand, Kenya and India. I have another question actually - should i be talking with you via the PM system? If so, once again I have no idea on how to proceed as I'm quite new to forums etc (poor me lol)? Any help in this regard would be great
