Hello Diane, I have been asked to design quite a few cards and bookmarks for various charities, in fact I have just completed two bookmark design sheets for Battery hen rescue today and I am working on other ones for various animal rescue centres right now. I also support many other charities, for example British heart Foundation, Cancer Research, Macmillan Nurses etc. etc. If any of your card amkers have a request I will always try and help supply the designs that are needed to make items to raise funds, so do please contact me if I can help. Keep up the good work everyone,
Elaine (The Arts And Crafts Lady)

Count me in too, would love to help. Thanks for suggesting & being prepared to organise Diane. It would be great if Rob could add it to the card makers' newsletter, so that the peeps who don't read the forums could join in too.

Cards for charity

I would gladly make cards for a charity but would rather there be somewhere in America where I could send them as sending them to England would be quite costly. Anyone out there who would also like to have a centre in America where they could be sent.?

OKay everyone here's an update........ I've been in touch with Neil and the gang at CUP, they're happy about us going ahead and making a card for charity as long as I take control of it, ie have the cards sent to me, which I have absolutely no problem with, as for designers doing us a free sheet, that's a no go and understandable, so my thought is this, on the 1st of each month a charity will be named to receive the cards we make, so on the 1st of each month we then all start making our cards, I will inform everyone through the forum of the charity it's to be, remember if you have any particular charity you'd like to help then let me know. I'll collect in all the cards, now as far as I'm concerned it should be any card from A5 size down, any kind of card will do, a variety would be excellent so let's not all concentrate on one theme or occasion, let's make it birthdays, thanks, get well, a whole variety, if we could have them placed in a poly card bag too please, feel free to put your own labels on the back of them too. The charities I've already spoken too are very happy with this suggestion for raising funds, as we all know Docrafts already does the craft for life campaign which does really well, but why not help other charities too. I've said to the charities that the cardmakers will put their own " Handmade By:" labels on them and that each charity could put on their own sticker too, it's also a thought that each charity is given a poster to display which may have on it something about us all being registered cratsuprint cardmakers, will have to run that by CUP 1st though. So, now to thoughts on which charities we can help, the more the merrier being the case. There are so many small charities out there who desperately need funds so let's not forget them, I'm thinking along the lines of helping, Marie Curie, Macmillan,, Alzheimers, RNIB, British Heart Foundation,Great Ormond Street Hospital, Barnados, Oxfam,Red Cross, there's so many, I'd love to do some for animal charities too, Dogs Trust,Cats Protection,PDSA, as I've said feel free to chip in with your own suggestions and I will make the necessary phone calls to arrange the delivery of cards. Now at the moment that's all I can think of but if any of you can come up with any ideas then get in touch with me in this thread. Thanks again to all those who've already expressed a wish to help and if possible I'll see if the CUP team can add something about this thread to our mailer. Keep an eye on this thread gang TC Diane xx

Thanks Andrea xx, now for Eunice and Rae, would it be possible for you to have cards sent to you then?, in other words let's say all those in the US send cards to Eunice and all those in OZ send them to Rae? This is why I've suggested we help worldwide charities too as this site is worldwide, and it would be unfair to just raise money for charities in the UK considering people from all over the world may want to get involved. All cardmakers will have a 4 week period within which to make and send cards, if cards arrive after I've distributed then they will go in for the next months charity if that's okay with everyone. Ideally 100 cardmakers or more would be fab!!!! then say each card is sold for £2, to make it worthwhile we really need to get more people involved. It's going to take me another couple of weeks to get this started, so shout out and tell everyone about this idea. Thanks everyone for the offer of support xxxxx TC Diane xx

Well done Diane, what a great idea, I'm more than happy to join in. Could we possibly add the Parkinsons Disease charity (parkinsons.com) as my family have had direct contact with this horrible disease.

Do you just want one card a month or more? I will send cards direct to you as I regularly send to the UK anyway so postage isn't an issue for me.

Look forward to hearing more.
