| A question for the Card Makers.
First off let me say.....you all do a BRILLIANT EXCELLENT job I love looking through the card gallery and seeing what you do with designers sheets.
So when you purchase a sheet what is your reason for reserving it and making a card up?
1. You look at it and can see 'wonderous' things you can do with it by way of embellishments or something other you can see to 'add' to it.
2. Do you think it will be a 'big seller' for the designer so it will boost your commissions?
3. The designer is 'highly ranked' so you think theres a bigger chance the sheets will sell?
4. Or just grab as many as you can, make them up quickly without anything extra so you have a pretty wide selection of designs covered which gives you a fair shot at getting commission from a lot of cards?
5. You need a certain 'type' of card ie Wedding, Birthday, New Baby etc so you buy the card and make it an hope your customer might like it enough to purchase?
6. Or 'other' reasons?
I think this has been asked somewhere in a thread but can't find it. And with so many new cardmakers now it'd be good to hear their views.

I am new to this, but I only buy a design if I really like it, I do tend to go for the pretty cards, I only bought the steam train because it was my Brother-in- Laws birthday and this was perfect for him as he loves trains and actually goes train spotting. Plus, I do look to see if there is anything I can add, like my own die-cuts

My answers would be 5 and 6
With 6 its because I like the design and think it would make a good card

I just choose what I like to look at or if it's for someone special I try and pick what they like. I don't choose the sheets because of the designer, I usually just buy from the New Products, simply because it's quicker. I'm donating a variety of card to my daughter's (teacher ) Pre-School fete so I've just been going for ones to suit all types.

I only buy sheets I like I dont sell my cards so I only have my family and friends to think about, its just a hobby I have my own craft room where I can make as much mess as I like lol
The commisson side of it did help by all means but I still have quite a few in my drop down list, I will only reserve 1or 2 of them at a time when I start them as I would hate to think Ive spent all day making 1 up and its gone by the time I've finish it

| I miss this about our last house. I had my own craft room and I could just shut the door on my own mess and come back to it later. Now I have to do my crafting in our open living space until we finish the rooms in the basement. Finishing the basement takes a good amount of money, so it may be a while. *sigh*

i look for designs that i think will appeal to my friends and family as i sell my cards to raise money for an orphanage in Uganda that i visited last year. There is no point in me buying a sheet just because it has a yellow star as if i can't sell the card once it's made up i won't use the sheet.
I usually start by looking at designers that i have purchased from before but i too browse the new products section daily!

I don't buy just because they have their gold stars either, what's the point in buying a sheet you'll never use!!!!!!!! silliness, for me it's a hobby, that occasionally brings in a bit of money, not enough to live on though lol, I go for what I think I can use either for friends and family or for selling purposes, I prefer decoupage sheets, I could sit and do them all day, if I make a bit of commission then great but it's not why I'm here, I'm here to have fun with my hobby, so to answer your question, I buy because I like the sheet, or it may be useful. I choose sheets that appeal(pretty colours/something a bit different) or if I want something for a specific occasion. You can usually find what you want quite quickly & strolling through members galleries can give you extra inspiration as well. Thanks for that!

As I make cards to suit my family and friends and for charities, I would choose 1 and 5. The sheet has to be really special before purchasing and I find it hard sometimes to reach the £5 limit.
