AWWW Edna xx I use a free programme called picasa, it's free to download and easy to use, it has a 1 button fix for pics, you can crop, straighten, lighten, colour enhance etc and it's very simple to use

click here for the web page to download

Picasa 3: Free download from Google

give it a go and if you still can't get them verified you could send me the pics in an email and I'll try fix them for you and send them back, I've done this for other members in the past so it's no trouble at all to do it for you TC Diane xx

Quanantine.

Hi Ladies. Thank you all for your useful advise.
At last I finally got my two card passed after three or four tries. they are in the gallery. One is St.Davids Daffodils. and other Rhianannan Fairy.(I think that is how it is spelt without looking...)

I find that If I take my photo's at night with the light on. they have been fine except these two. and no way could I sort it. Either to dark or to light or to much brightness. whichever way I just cold not win with them.
I have before gone into every room to try photoing them. also outside when the weather is o.k which is not very often these days.

I will try the lamp. and other suggestions made,

Thank you all again for the help. Take care Edna.xx

As Vicki says, I bought a Lighting Studio to take my photographs in. A bit pricey at $40, but I think it is worth it if you want to sell your cards as you want the best possible pictures of your work.
Here are two cards that I've taken using my Lighting Studio:

I bought my Lighting Studio on Amazon for those interested in purchasing one.

A Photography friend of mine recommended standing cards in a Shoebox that is white on the inside to create a kind of lightbox, I've not tried it yet as thankfully when I have uploaded cards recently the photo's have been taken on days with a rare bit of sunshine. My Problem is often finding somewhere light enough to photograph but with none of my crafting clutter in the background.

It's not that I'm a messy Crafter it's just I have so much stuff and not enough room

Catherine.....if you have to take them with all the craft stuff behind them, find a sheet or something plain preferably, and throw over the stuff at the back......it gives the background a 'drape' effect and if you 'drape' it nicely it can look like its meant to be there

I used to do that when I was working on things and didn't want to clear them up, I'd put a nice piece of maroon crushed velvet over items I might have had on the table in the background. Then sit the card in the front of it and photograph. When we used to do the wedding shows, I'd often need to photograph invitations for the advertising etc and thats how I'd do it.

You can often pick up lovely 'expensive' looking pieces of material in the bargin bin at the drapery quite cheaply if you havent got anything.

What a great idea Vicki?
I usually use either black or white card depending on the card I'm photographing. Does anyone have an idea of a colour that would suit all cards as I know some look washed out if the wrong colour is used.

Until I got my Lighting Studio, I always took my photos inside an oak bookcase that had a large section that I could use for photography. I would place lights all the way around, so I wouldn't get shadows and I never had any of my photos or colors look washed out against the oak colored wood.
