I had that problem the other day, then suddenly they went through and if anything some of the pictures didn't appear so good. It is a mystery. I am assuming it is something technical beyond the scope of my very untechnical brain.

Did you take them all at the same time? When you looked at them when you'd finished did they all look the same lighting wise? Did you use the same background for each one?

Sometimes what you use for the background can make the main pic appear darker. It is so frustrating when you can't find a reason for something isn't it.

Keep trying, tomorrow is another day.

Hi Helen,
Its very frustrating isnt it, others went through without a problem, its just these three, think the problem being they are very light designs anyway, but tomorrow is another day, i must have uploaded them five times just today hahaha.

Hi, I have to take photos of my made up cards for kit previews sometimes and I bought a photo tent off ebay, its only about 50cm cubed but it has changeable backgrounds and I really think its great.

I have seen somewhere where you can use a cardboard box and line it with white card/paper - then shine a light inside and take a pic - probably like Amanda's photo tent theory but not as easy!!!! I have been taking my pics outside with my camera, but even then they end up to light so you have to fiddle with the light/dark on the computer. And first thing in the morning when you think it's bright, grab the camera and start clicking away, only to find it all looks blue on the screen and dull! When it was snowing, I had the most wonderful clear pics, must have been bouncing off the snow and reflecting onto the cards! Good luck!! I'm off to search for a photo tent!!!!

Deep breaths Susan keep your sense of humour - the funniest reply i got was they needed more light - i live in sunny spain and unless i moved to africa i canīt see it getting any brighter bless now i just keep playing with the toolbars in the photo thingy and do an autocorrection ......so far so good, the important thing is not to give up (that does not mean you canīt have quiet temper tantrums out of sight!) til the next time keep smiling and good luck

Don't give up Susan. You will find the right combination of light and background for these problem cards. As has already been said - tomorrow is another day.

I always take several photos of each card and choose the one I think looks best after cropping in. How your camera's automatic settings work can be totally different to another camera so there's no point saying - do it like this and it will work - because there's no guarantee that your camera will work the same as mine. I've now found that quite often it's the picture taken of the cards on a black leather chair that come out better, colour and light wise, with me. A white background, more often than not especially with lighter cards, doesn't look right, but it depends on the light at the time. The camera appears to set itself using the very light background and so the card looks darker because of this. I know you say you've tried different backgrounds, but have you gone the extreme and taken a series all in one go against a range of backgrounds from white, through red and blue, to black? Also, taking the picture a bit further away and then cropping in to the picture on your PC/Laptop, rather than trying to make the card fit the full picture framed area to start with. I sometimes put the card at a slight angle to the light, or the camera at a slight angle to the card, if I want layers to show up.

Experiment and have a play with everything, then take to your PC and try colour correction in your software after cropping your picture, to see if you can get the pictures accepted tomorrow.

Good luck.

GG
