You can, but it needs to be non-shedding. I have not tried it myself because I am a bit scared to. Not sure whether the glitter side should be down or up for cutting. If its down you will get a small amount of glitter on the carrier sheet and if up then I am not sure whether the needle would like it.

There is a shop here in Glasgow that sells glitter card for many types of cutting machine and I think the robo is included in this and I found out that the company that produces it was who I used to work for. They are at - SOUTHFIELD STATIONERS.

They have absolutely gorgeous colours. I bought about 7 different colours. I think they cost approx 75p an A4 sheet. It is slightly cheaper going directly to Southfield (70p) via the internet but if you buy directly from their shop they cost about 50p or cheaper, but you would have to go to the shop to get them. They will only sell in bulk over the net.

There might be somewhere near you that sells Southfield products. They sell all over Britain.

Any advice from a Robo user on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Annelies

Hi Sarah. I bought some very thick glitter card a while ago and then asked the same question you are now asking. I tried cutting the card with the Silhouette SD and did not have much luck with it. It was rather thick card!! Thankfully I only bought a small pack that had been reduced in price. When I asked this question on the forum, Tina replied to me and said if you have trouble try printing on the wrong side of the card, ie, glitter side down!
Take care Sarah and look after yourself, John.
PS. One of my worries was that the glitter may dull the blade!

Thank you John and Annelies.

Yes I was worried that the glitter would come off and "jam up" the machine lol.

I want to make some "Thank you" cards for after Christmas and have a lovely little design in mind of the words Thank You in a circle shape with snowflakes around it, and thought it would look nice cut from pale blue glitter card as a topper and then put onto a white satin-effect card.

I don't think the glitter card I have is non-shedding though...

You can cut it Sarah Glitter side down but it will blunt your blade after a dew cuts and to be honest it's not really worth it with the price of replacements...

I would cut normal card then make your pattern with a quickie glue pen in the holder then sprinkle your glitter,....

There you are Sarah. As usual the good advice from Tina. My message should have said cutting on the wrong side, ie glitter side down! However I am sure you would know what I meant(?)
I will have to remember and check up on that glitter that Tina suggested.
Take care Sarah and you also Tina. Look after yourselves, John.
