Help using V 2.2 of studio software and cut and print option

Okay, I have a brand new silhouette and upgraded to the latest version of the designer software. Whenever I try to use the cut and print option, the lines around the images are all jagged....

Do any of you use your machine to cut out elements for decoupage? If so, are some images better than others. I bought this machine hoping it would relieve some of all the cutting work I do with hand cutting...

Not sure if my software is corrupt but sometimes the traced lines are so far off the image.. I even go into point editing and there are thousands of points on some of these..

Any advise woudl be appreciated

You can alter by hand if you want too by using the edit tool to smooth things out..

Or try the trace and detatch that maybe slightly better... I am not that offey with P & C I don't do it very often

I had a similar problem when I first bought my machine.

I found the solution was to alter the trace settings. Put the scale down as low as possible. I don't usually go above 2 but usually I start with 1. I also generally find I get better results by not using the high/low pass filters. When you do the trace you want the area you want to cut to be as solid yellow as possible, so adjust the threshold but without picking up detail outside of your trace area.

That was what worked for me but someone else may know of a better easier way. I found the silhouette instructions 'play with the settings and see what happens' not very helpful initially but that really is what you need to do!

I did still have problems trying to trace VERY intricate designs though.
