Vellum what & where

Hi,
I was wondering if you could tell me where you get your vellum from and what colour(s) you use for printing onto.

I do have some but none of it is A4 & it's all coloured so it's not something I've used alot and when I have it's generally been for plain muted coloured backgrounds.

Thanks

This is the stuff I use - here. You need to look out for Printable Vellum as the surface on some is so dense ink just puddles and spreads.

You're right Gwyneth,
I tried some beautiful lace scrapbook pages on mine (to try your suggestion at printing a4 to turn it into 12' x 12' but the colour washed out!
What a waste of ink!
Lucky on TradeMe (our leading site similar to Ebay) I get 5 inks for the price of one in the shops!!!

I won't be much help as over the other side of the world... but I couldn't believe it when I went to our Gordon Harris shop here in Auckland, and got a whole pad of a4 plain vellum! I had no idea someone sold it in pads!!! I was over the moon! Our crafting world in NZ isn't as big as UK...

Hi Belinda,
I'll have to keep a look out and see if they sell that sort of thing over here. Vellum is not really something I've done a lot with.

Talking parchment

Hi Helen, I use quite a lot of parchment for my wedding invitations and birthday cards and have put it through my printer with great results, I buy mine from J.D Crafts and find that they are really good value for money as you get 25 sheets and its about 160 frms in weight which is also good for making 3d embleshiments.
Hope this helps Cuppydoll.

Never heard of onion paper. Vellum is like thick tracing paper. It is normally used for parchment craft or pergamano which is the proper name for it.
