Pinflair Glue Gel Probs

My glue is blocked in the tube so I can't use it also the bit I put in the syringe last night is blocked. Does anyone else have this problem? I am gonna have to throw the remainder away as its unuseable.

Hi

When you finish putting glue from the tube to your syringe you have to leave a blob of glue on the top of the tube opening to make sure that there's no air in the tube and to create a seal when you put the lid on. This prevents the glue in the tube hardening. If you find that you've got a problem with the tube being blocked, but the tube itself is still squishy, then use a pokey-tool to put a hole through the set glue through to the soft stuff, you may even be able to flick out the cured glue plug. If the whole tube is set hard then there must have been a lot of air left into the tube and it will be unusable.

The same is also true of glue left in the syringe. You need to make sure that there's a blob of glue on the syringe end before putting the cap on after use, and this will form a seal that prevents the air getting in. If you've got a syringe that's blocked you may be able to unblock it if only the end is blocked, or you can take the plunger out, let the whole thing set hard, and pull the lot of glue out in a couple of days time and then re-use the syringe.

I've used a syringe today that has had Pinflair Glue Gel in it for ten days and all I had to do was flick away the glue around the end after taking the cap off. I re-filled it during the day from a tube I've had open for around four weeks already.

Fab advice from Gwyneth, I use it all the time, also remember when you are refilling take the yellow nozzle off or you wont be able to pull the plunger out Margaret xx

My husband saw my pin flair glue with the key thing on it the other day & tried to nick it for the toothpaste tube. So I've now been ordered to use it up fast so he can get another tube with another key

Thanks for the tip about letting the glue dry in the syringe then pulling it out, Gwynth. I hadn't thought of that and recently threw one away because I let it get hard.I also made a horrible mess of one because I couldn't figure out how to re-fill it - but the glue is the best! User error!

pin flair glue

Hi queentotti.I have had this trouble with pinflair glue.Try storing your tube when you have finished in a plastic box with a lid on.I know this works.

Hiya everyone. I have just bought a four pack of Pinflair. Also three very small syringes. I am afraid that I can't figure out how to fill them! I have used small syringes before for replenishing ink cartridges and have been able to pull the plunger out for cleaning, then refilling by drawing the ink back up into the syringe by pulling the plunger up. With these tiny little syringes that I have just got, the plunger won't pull out of the top! And it wont draw glue from the tube! The glue seems to be too thick to draw up that way. I thought I would be able to remove the plunger and fill the syringe from the top, but that won't work if I can't pull the plunger out. Anybody any suggestions. John

Hi John

The syringes that are sold with the Pinflair Glue Gel are 10mm plastic ones with a yellow cap. They are made for the plungers to come out and the glue to be squeezed in through the back straight from the tube. You do have to remove the yellow cap from the nozzle end before attempting to remove the plunger or you just create a vacuum and the plunger won't come out. The plunger is obviously a tight fit or the glue would ooze past it into the back of the syringe when in use, but a light tug usually gets it out.
