But this takes time and ink so I think larger bags would be the best solution.
Better go and do the order now before I forget.
| Hi Joan, lovely to speak to you again. I make a lot of A5 size cards and there are sizes of self seal cellophane bags that I use. 220mm x 320mm and 235mm x 340mm. These work for DL also. The bigger ones work if you make your own A5 envelopes. For square cards though (large 7 & 8 inch) I put it in and put a small rough photo of the insert on the back like you do. Hope that helps you with your sizes. Joan :-]

[QUOTE=Joan King;136211]I am like a lot of the other ladies, I keep mine in the cellophane so that you can actually open them and see the insert as well as I often think that is another lovely part of the card.

| What a good idea Joan about putting the A5 cards in A4 cello bags so that customers can see the insert. I think I will give that a try - I usually leave the cello bag open for the cards with matching inserts - so that the customer can see it, but your way seems much better. Thanks for giving us the sizes, I am doing an order for some bags later today so I will add this size.
Like most other Crafters I keep my finished cards in separate boxes for male, female, children, weddings/anniversaries and all the other categories - so its easier to see what cards I am short of for my next sale.

Hi,
I know this sounds silly BUT it works ... i go a clear plastic shoe organiser from the £1 shop (the ones that hang on the back of a door or you can even hang them in the wardrobe!!
All of my cards are in clear cello sleeves anyway!!
These are perfect and fit almost all card sizes (excl A4)
I have certain rows for different occasions!! It makes them so easy to find!!
Just thought i would share.....

Hi Tracey, Do you have a handy husband? I'm very lucky in that I have. He has made me some lovely wooden boxes which I use. I am able to stack them 2 at a time so they go in the car for transporting to craft fairs and are easy to display when we get there. Lots come out of the boxes obviously to be displayed to their full but people do love to look through the boxes too. I make card dividers to separate the sections i.e different ages, anniversaries, family members etc. They took a long time to set up in the first place, and of course the 2 I first asked for became 4 then 6 then 8. We'll have to stop there though.Hope this of some use to you. Katie

Hi Tracey,
I'm an administrator and I'm definitely, like you more organised at work than at home!
I found I was taking over all spare surfaces in my house with card stuff so I bought a tall plastic storage unit with four drawers. I've found that I keep everything organised now. I got in in Poundstretcher.
Hope this helps

I take all of my cards every weekend to our local Farmers Market, so I just have my cards in old envelope boxes. I have them sorted by category...birthday, sympathy/get well, love/anniversary/wedding, baby etc. These boxes are then stored in a clear plastic tote to keep them all together. When I get to the market, it is much easier to set up and take down my card display keeping them sorted like this. I use 2 table top video displays to display my cards at the market.

Hi there talking about organising cards,
What i do with my cards is put them into cello bags, and print or write what it says on the insert onto card , slip it into the bag so the customer can see then they dont have to open the bag and damage the cards.
Also when i have made all the cards, i put them into Card Racks in my spare bedroom with dividers saying what they are , then when i go to a craft fair , i am all ready. hope this helps too.

Hi Lavinia,
Where do you get your Card Racks from? At the moment I have large boxes that my cards are in and I have made some card dividers so that they are sorted, almost, into some order. My spare room is being taken over by all my crafty bits and bobs.
What are people's feelings on inserts? Do you make inserts to go into your cards or not? At the moment I don't as I feel that sometimes people want to put their own words into cards and there again that can be quite a costly exercise, paper, ink etc. which can bump up the price.
So far the cards that I have made at the request of work colleagues is going really well. One lady has given me 11 orders of the same type of card for birthdays among her family, thankfully all spread out over the year but I do ask if they would like a verse inside and everyone so far as said yes so maybe that is something to think about.
Unfortunately Katie I don't have a husband but I have my Dad who is very good with wood so if needs be I can ask him to make something for me.
Thanks all xx

Hi Tracy,
I get my card racks from Standstore.co.uk, I found them on E-bay, the cardboard ones that are 5 levels deep are £9.99, and then i got a collapsable wire 1 for £22.00 the cardboard ones collapse too, but i leave them up all the time, then when i do a little craft fair i just put them in my Husbands car.
Hope this helps.
