Red face

Hi Mary,
I've been reading this thread with interest and learnt a bit to apply to myself too! (This is such a helpful place <grin>)

I usually wait till I have a reasonable number of cup downloads and then copy them onto a disc, but don't delete them from my PC until I check that I can access them OK on the disc. I'm not terribly confident that I'm doing things correctly sometimes, so this way I can doublecheck. Then I just go back in to my original files and delete them, so I have a lot of space all over again. Basic, but it works for me.

Mary, what you have been told so far is all very good advice. I Have a couple of external HDDs and have set my PC so that it does an AUTOMATIC back up every week, or so. I also have some small flash drives connected,(plugged into the PC), and When I download cUp files I also export them to the flash drives. I do this because even External HDDs can go wrong! I suppose it is a "Belt & Braces Job" really, but I have lost hundreds of photos in the past and it is often difficult, or impossible to get them back. Wish you luck, Mary, and all the very best to you and yours, John.
PS. When I have exported the files to external Drives I delete them on the PC, so that my PC is not cluttered with them and use them from the Flash drives when I need to use them.
Hope all this makes sense to you.
