| My cake creations
Well folks, I was cleaning out some stuff today and came across some really old photographs of cakes I made, many, many years ago. I taught myself how to make and decorate these cakes, not the world greatest I know, but hey, I used to get orders believe it or not!! I've scanned them into my PC and popped them into my albums, some of the pics are really out of focus, sorry guys, photography skills were a bit poorer back then lol, but then so were cameras hahaha thought you might like to take a wee peek at some of my other crafty past times TC Diane xx thanks in advance to those of you who have a look xx

Great cakes Diane, it is amazing that so many people want these types of cake isn't it. You did well teaching yourself. Why did you give it up. You would have been an expert by now. I would love to show you some of mine but do not have a scanner that works, a pain in the neck.

I saw them when I came in and thought they looked great!!
Clever you being able to recreate a face that actually looked like it should......ie fred flinstone!!
I used to make cakes and decorate too but never did them to actually look like something like that because my fred would probably end up looking more like wilma than it would fred!!!! |

Thanks for all your lovely comments xx Annelies, I gave it up because I was getting in too many orders !!! I started off by doing a number 1 shaped cake for my eldest, which was over 19 years ago now,and when a few of his little friends came round for cake their mums started asking if I could do them a cake too, to begin with I did it as a hobby, only charged for the cost of making the cake, so didn't make any money from it, I even had one of Britains top bakers, send people to me to bake cakes, even made a cake for a member of their staff !!! lol. I didn't used shaped tins, I would draw the character onto paper then cut it out of the cake, then decorate with butter icing, it got to the point though that I was getting asked to make too many cakes and was under pressure, it took the joy out of baking them, I now only bake cakes like these for family. Maybe 1 day I'll take it up again, but think I've enough going on just now hahaha. Thanks for taking the time to look folks TC Diane xx
