| Thanks Sue, I really appreciate your honesty. Unfortunately I haven't been well for the last couple of weeks, so delayed booking tickets and a hotel. We've come to the conclusion that I might be better off trying one of the smaller craft fairs first to see how I cope. There's a "Sincerely Yours" at Taunton 14th Nov. So all being well I'll go to that one, and see how I cope. Personally when I'm out in my scooter kids and teenagers and much more polite than older people. Holding doors, giving me space instead of the adults who always dive infront of me. Tesco is terrible, I prefer to shop groceries online. I like the idea of a cattle prod - I've got a little cuddly cow on the front at the moment LOL Thanks again for the reply sue TC Ali xx

Those who could walk a little were tending to "park" their scooters near to the stall they wanted to see and just using the traditional January Sales technique (elbows high and at the ready). You may find that the first couple of days are a bit quieter than the weekend though - good luck - I don't want to put you off - just thought you ought to know the score - maybe a cattle prod fixed on the front of your scooter ???? LOL

| I couldn't agree more, Liz. I just think its a shame that so many people (usually those who have 2 good strong legs) can't be a bit more generous of spirit. Couple of years ago, I took my wheelie frame - mostly to hold all the shopping, and that was a nightmare, especially as some of the actual stands are really quite small anyway. Last time, I just managed with my stick, but of course that reduces the number of hands available to carry shopping and it reduces the length of time I can actually spend there before the legs actually scream for mercy Still, maybe its a good thing that my legs usually give out well before my cash . I shall most likely end up in bed all day Sunday recovering in time to go back to work on Monday.

Hi everyone - am really looking forward to the NEC and am going on Saturday. Hubby is driving me up, carrying my bags and generally being nice to me - bound to be a price to pay, guess I may have to cook dinner eh!
I've seen the comments on scooters - am a dab hand at getting people to move out of the way - my Mum had one (and a wheelchair) and I was forever getting people to shift, politely of course, its an art form and unfortunately I believe that people really do not think beyond themselves these days - they just need reminding that they are not the only ones around.
Think we are all going to have a good time - happy days Lx

I was talking to one of the organisers of the SECC and NEC about the show and the trade show and he has suggested that I should go and see the NEC before I book anything else. He kindly said that if I wanted to come next weekend he would give me a couple of tickets for free. Would love to come but I think it would just be for the day. Don't really want to book to stay somewhere overnight. If I decide to come I will probably be there Friday or Saturday. I would be lovely to meet you all. Unfortunately I have mislaid (lost) my badge.

I'm getting excited now.... 5 sleeps to go and I've already worked out how much I can spend, and what I'd like to spend it on as well! lol
Does anyone know if it's very easy to get out of the show to go to your car and have lunch then go back in the show? I know from experience (done some cross stitch shows!) what a hassle it can be to find somewhere to sit to eat your picnic!

I have been going to the NEC craft fair for years. I don't do Saturday and Sunday as its too buzy. I always do Friday. There are no husband creches as such but there is a big area where they serve tea and coffee, and if you are really well off you could buy a dinner. We always take a buttie. It's hard to find a seat as there are more people wanting than there are seats. You'll find a lot of people sitting round the outsides due to lack of seats. As soon as you arrive book into any workshops you want to do as they fill up very quickly. Anyone with a blue badge, it's free to park if you follow the disabled sign. I will be wearing my cup t shirt so please feel free to say hallo, if I'm not the only one there

Unfortunately Dianne & I are unable to go now due to personal family circumstances, we were so looking forward to meeting some of the designers of the wonderful sheets we both make up!
