Thanks Angela. I down loaded Inkscape and think I'll get to grips with it easier as it appears to be very like Corel Draw

Strange coincidence today. I use an application calls Sure Cuts A Lot 2 with my Cricut. I had not used it much since CUP came into my life. I ordered a book from Dover Publications with SVG, PNG, and JPG versions on the CD. For some reason I was unable to import any of the SVG files into SCAL. Found out that there was a free update to the app. After installing the update I was able to import the SVGs. During this process they mentioned that it could be used with the Craft ROBO. Unfortunately there is no sign of being able to import the GSD format to use with the Cricut through SCAL. It really would have been nice to get some of the cuts some of the designers are offering to use with the Craft ROBO machine.

this website was set up by the Manufacturers of the Craft Robo in the UK.
If you ever decide that you might like to try designing your own cutting files then there is a FREE software programme called Inkscape that you can download and use and you can find out how from this forum: http://www.inkscapecuttingdesign.com/index.php |

Hi Deborah
If you try the second link on the post above your reply I'm sure there is a way too change a GSD file so that you can use it with your SCAL. Most of my cutting files have a SVG version........

Must admit that I love the Silhouette Studio software for creating designs for my Robo. It's free to download too. Haven't had it long so am still learning but it's not that difficult to get to grips with. There are lots of tutorials on UK Scrappers which have helped me a lot.
Am in the process of converting my GSD files to Silhouette but am not getting rid of my GSD files as they are still useful especially for selling on CUP!
However for manual cut line tracing I still prefer the tools in Robomaster (I have a pretty old version). Silhouette Studio doesn't appear to have a spline (or my favourite) polyline tool.
