Advice needed

Hi
I am new to this site and would really appreciate some help. I am quite new to crafting and and really enjoying making cards especiallly decoupage. However I have developed a problem with one of my hands which makes cutting out a bit of a problem. My family have decided to club together to buy me a craft robo for Christmas ( they are a lovely bunch!!) and I wonder if you have can help me, I have done some research as it is a lot of money and I want to know if I could use it to cut out cards or decoupage I have downloaded from CraftsUprint or will it only work with its own software? I would really appreciate if anyone has an answer

Hi there and welcome to cup, Yes you can use your craftROBO to cut your decoupage you download from Cup, you would have to import your sheet/kit by scanning it then inserting into your robo, then you would need to add your registration marks so the machine knows where to cut, then you need to add the cutlines, so you would need to either autotrace which is built in or trace by hand with the tools provided..

Hope this helps you a little if not just shout and I will help you some more Or you could buy some of the print and cut already forsale on cup in the cutting file sections..

You won't need any other software than the one that comes with the machine it's very powerful piece of kit now they have upgraded it.

If you buy the Robo with the magic eye you will be able to put anything in the 'Print & Cut' section of the cutting files, as well as all .gsd files. If when you get it, you struggle to get it sorted out, come back and we will help you. If it does not have a magic eye you can cut all other .gsd files. the magic eye gives you the extra section and this is where you will find your decoupage

Hi renemags. I am a comparative newcomer also. I have been card making for a bare four months, or so. I have bought the Craft Robo Silhouette SD. That has the magic eye. You could not do better than to follow Tina and the other experts here on this forum. They are brilliant and are never stinting in their advice. The CUP designs here are out of this world.
Good luck and enjoy you crafting and being here on this forum. It is definitely the "Bees Knees". The very best forum going! All the very best, John.
