I'm a newbie too

Hi everyone you may have noticed that Rob and Neil let me loose on the forum yesterday. They've given me the title of Cup Support and made me sound like ladies underwear!!!

I'm usually around most weekday mornings and will try to help out where I can. I'm logging in from home over the weekend to get a feel for the forum so please be gentle with me.

My name's Lorraine and I've worked for Rob for about 4 years, I have a teenage daughter and an assortment of animals which include cats, dogs, rats and a bad tempered cockatiel!!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and who knows, maybe I'll get an office with a window and access to the hobnobs if I do a good job

Hi Lorraine, I hate to agree but 'Cup support' does sound like ladies underwear lol As for an office with a window ................ I will be jealous if you get one cos I haven't got one :-(

Does your role of CUP Support apply to things like smilies on the forum and telling people how to get them? If not, can you point me the right direction?

Hi Susan, there are a selection of smilies on the right hand side of the message box, if you click the word 'more' then a new window will open and there are quite a few different ones there.

You can upload your own smilies from sites like photobucket or tinypics like this

Hi Lorraine and welcome to the forum. Pity about the title, but at least nobody's going to forget who you are .

We are a very friendly bunch so I'm sure you'll enjoy browsing around over the weekend and feel right at home before work on monday.

Hi Gwyneth thanks for the welcome. I've been posting on other forums like Ebay etc for a couple of years but every forum is different so there's a lot for me to learn.

Hi Millie, not sure what to suggest, have you tried glossy paper? I'm sure someone with some ideas will be along soon.

Hi Millie.

Printing out a sheet with metallic effect is never going to look the same as a shop bought sheet that has a metallic finish, such as gold or silver mirror board. At least, there's no way to get the same results as far as I'm aware. The effect seen on a metallic effect sheet is created by the putting down different shades of colour by your printer. The exact result you get will depend on both your printer and inks, as well as the paper you print onto. Glossy paper, or paper with a special finish, will give you a different effect to printing on ordinary "photocopy" paper.

I'd recommend putting one or two of the metallic effect sheets you are interested in into your basket with an assortment of other types of card sheets and having a play with different cards and paper to see if you like the effect.
