| How/where to start
Mum's getting a knee replacement (can't believe it really!)
Anyway, I kind of started a scrapbook for her 60th and it's gone in limbo!
I thought I'd be good at this, but totally stuck where to start.
My Auntie said start with a title page,
But how do I decide where to start with what photo???
Had all the photos printed etc, just need to stick and design...
HELP!!!
I want her to have this to look through, I'm sure she'll be bored in hospital for 5 days!
Thanks!
Belinda

Decide what you want to cover & break it down into pages.
I did one for my husband when it was our 10th Anniversary. I started with our Wedding and then moved on to our family (i.e. the kids), then our pets (e.g. a bit of a zoo). I then looked at doing a page for each year, I'm a bit behind on this one but I was finding stuff off the internet as well as photos such as what was the best selling record, things about what the anniversary celebrated (e.g. paper, wood, etc...). I included photos of hols etc... but also cut round some to make them more interesting adding embellishments where I wanted to fill gaps.
I'm not an experience scrap booker but I HTH

| Why not buy a scrapbooking magazine, sometimes when you are stuck for ideas browsing through one of those might just give you inspiration. I am sure once you get going there will be no holding you back. Good luck. xxx

| That's a great idea Lesley, I have some old one's that I didn't look through yet as I didn't really get what I was looking at, just someone else's photos!
I think I know what to look for now!

Hi Karen,
I have pics of her child-hood which I think is why I've found it difficult to start,
But sitting here letting the ideas flow (think I had a blockage before).
I managed the title page for her 60th on the day, but that was easy, I'm always good at title pages, they are easy!

OMG!!! so it took me ALL day to get started on the 2nd page, I forgot to mention I did the first page in APRIL!!! I thought I was going to be good at this haha. Must admit the 2nd page (of my Grandma and Grandad's wedding day) is quite stunning! Wish it didn't take sooooo long for me to decide what to do!!!

Hi Lesley!
Whoops did I never update this? It got finished in time (except the last pages) and of course everyone looked at it after dinner... some pages needed a bit more on them especially the beachy ones so I have bought a few beach/exotic embellishments which were hard to find... even here!
I'm hoping to do an 'accordian' mini scrapbook of our family pets (just a small one this time) and think I would enjoy doing a smaller one more. Won't be doing a 12 x 12 again until we have a baby!
Do you scrapbook Lesley? I did enjoy it but think I gave myself a too big subject e.g. from a baby til 60 years later!!!
How do you choose your subjects on someone specific?
Look forward to your ideas!

| Hi Belinda I am glad you got it done in time. I think scrapbooking is more enjoyable when you have not got a deadline. I love scrapbooking. I go off into a little world of my own. Also none of the scrapbooks I have done are finished. I just do a page every now and then when the mood takes me. Sometimes my Mum who I made a book for will request a special page. My daughter asks all the time, so my book has been put on hold. I also collect bits and pieces, bus tickets, post cards, etc etc, when I am on holiday or days out and special occasions. (they go in an envelope to await the day when I get round to making them up). i look forward to seeing you pet one. xxxxxx |
