Another scrapping question

With the 12 x 12 pages, I only have an A4 printer, can I somehow set-up my printer options to break the pages into 3 or 4 lots of A4?
Hope this makes sense!

Hi Belinda,

I don't think you can do this. You could reduce the size to fit on an A4 sheet. Maybe someone else can help on this.

I have seen mentioned that there are companies that will print sheets for you at 12x12 but I don't know of any so can't suggest any I'm afraid. I would be interested to find out some & the cost.

Sorry I've not been of much help.

Makes perfect sense to me. I have one piece of software that will print out just about any sized documents onto multiple pages with white margins so that you just trim off the white on one edge and stick the cut edge over the white, butted up to the printed edge on the next sheet. It's a facility in Microsoft Publisher and you choose to create a new Poster and put in the correct dimention for your work if a pre-determined one isn't already there. Don't know whether you've got that software or not, or whether any other software will do the same thing. I did a long banner like that for my brother's wedding. Of course you do have the join lines visible, but how badly it shows depends on whether you've used very thick paper/card to print on and how good your cutting and aligning is.

In the US we have several companies that will print them. I'm sure there might be one that is an online service in the Uk that might be able to print them. I would do an internet search and check. Otherwise not sure what to tell you. I use a place called Costco. There great and fairly cheap.

We have Costco over in the UK but I believe it's a cash & carry so you have to be a business owner & you have to pay to be a member.
I wouldn't buy enough to warrant the cost. Unless anyone knows if you can use the print services without being a member. I'm assuming that they do the print services in the UK.

The Publisher that Gwyneth mentioned is part of your Microsoft Office.

If you did it that way you could always embellish over any join lines with journalling or photos, or other embellishments to suit the page.

Unfortunately Microsoft Publisher, while being of the Microsoft Office stable of software, isn't part of most people's version of Microsoft Office. The only Microsoft Office suite it comes as a part of is "Office Professional" - the most expensive of the suites. It isn't in the "Office Home and Student" or the "Office Home and Business" that most people tend to have either pre-installed on their machines or have added themselves. You can see the breakdown of software content of the various Office suites -> here. Never could understand why Publisher wasn't in the version available to school pupils/students as it is used in many schools around here for class work for making posters, project covers, etc., and the children in my family have often been over here to use the copy on my machine to finish off work because the software isn't on their PC at home.

When I print my printer allows me to move the page about in the preview. If you go to print and get a preview of what it is going to print you might be able to move that picture with your mouse. If you can you might be able to print each section yourself.

Printing a 12 x 12 sheet here in the UK would be expensive. It is not worth it as it is slightly bigger than A3. If A3 was big enough and you were happy to loose some of the design or you reduced it to A3 you can go somewhere like Prontaprint which I think there are a few in the UK and it might cost about 60p. I don't think it should be any more than £1. If you have a shop near you that prints phone them up and enquire.

Staples will also print.

Um, we only have a Microsoft Vista Home Basic (not that I'm a computer beginner or anything!)
Would this have the preview and shift-around option with the printer options?
Hope I'm making sense!
Thought of getting a 12 x 12 inch printer but then what about my a4 that I print masses of?
Questions questions!!!

Ooh I like the sounds of the embellishing to hide join lines Vicki!
I'm up to Page4 of my scrapbook (Mum and Dad's wedding day)!
Woohoo I'm on a roll!
