Possibly a silly question but ....

what is digital scrapbooking? It sounds appealing as I just love anything to do with the computer but there again .....

Hi Jan,

Digital Scrapbooking is the same as normal scrapbooking except it's all done in a graphics programme on your computer. You can buy just about everything the same as you can get for traditional scrapbooking including backing papers, photo mounts, ribbons, bows, embellishments etc ............ plus a few that are only available for digital scrapbookers like clipping masks etc. Of course you still use your own photos.

A digital layout can look just as good (if not better) than the 'real' thing ........ and you can then wither print it out (you'll need an A3 printer to print out at 12 x 12) or share your digital creations online.

I did some ages ago and you can see them here

Digital Scrapbooking

Hi Jan, I use some software called Craft Artist by Serif, it is brilliant and amazing. I actually use it for hybrid cards rather than scrapbooking but it was developed initially for scrapbooking. I can recommend it, but you need a large hard drive on your PC. Hope this helps x Kim

The above page is a fairly simplistic example. Here's another page I did with a photo mask and fun swirlies and font work.

Jan - you can pick up a cheap second hand older copy of Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist on Ebay quite cheaply these days. It's a great piece of software. Easy to use and you will achieve amazing results very quickly.
Have a look at Daisytrail.com
I think you might be able to get a trial version too you can download from Serif or perhaps on the Daisytrail site, to have a try before you buy, if you know what I mean!

I used to do traditional scrapbooking but rarely do it these days - it's all digital now. It's quite addictive and creative and easy to email your friends with your pages.
Give it a try - you will really enjoy it!

Lovely designs Jolis.
Do you all just leave them on the computer when they are finished or do you print them off?
If the latter who do you use to print them 12x12 (UK based) or do you have an A3 printer?
It's not something I've done before but it looks great from what I've seen so far.
