Guillotine or Rotary Cutter and why?

Which do you think is best. I've bought rotary cutters in the past for around 8 but I'm in the middle east and there is very little choice and no spare blades etc.

I'm a bit nervous to get a guillotine. I tried one at work and although great for paper was not so good for a clean cut on just 170gsm card. It was a new guillotine too so am nervous to invest in case they all cut this way.

I'd prefer a good rotary cutter that I can easily get spare blades from IN UK PLEASE ONLY. Even an online purchase would be ok just need good suggestions ladies.

What do you prefer and why?

I do not have a lot of luck with either rotary or guillotine. I have never purchased a really good quality guillotine so that could be the problem. My friend swears by her one. I will try to find out which one she owns. I answered this post to put it back into circulation so someone might answer you. I cut wonky with scissors, guillotine s and rotary. Lol

I have 4 or 5 guillotines thinking each time it must be better but no - i just cannot get the hang of cutting straight with them - crafting knife every time for me as i didn't get on with the rotary cutters either - best is if you get the opportunity to try them before you buy if that is possible - knives and nail scissors for intricate cuts
