| I should have listened...
.... to the advice you gave me in my other thread 'can I explain' about my mum falling etc... You told me to take care of myself.... On weds I went to sort mum out as usual, then we decided to go to a garden centre for lunch and look at the Christmassy things, and then call at mum's again on the way back.... that was the plan.... We had our lunch and met some relations so had a lovely chat with our coffee, then off to look round. About 20 mins later I was admiring the decorations when I had a weird sensation - difficult to describe... To cut a long story short I was whizzed off to hospital and it was found that I'd had a heart attack... only a mild one but enough to scare the life out of me. I was kept in until the following evening and sent home with strict instructions to rest and a bagfull of pills. I feel ok now, but very tired.
My 3 children have contacted me from around the globe and each one has read the riot act... so instead of me doing Christmas dinner for everyone, I have been banned from the kitchen... silver lining and all that..lol

Sorry to hear that Valerie. Something similar happened to my wife, Norma. We count ourselves very lucky, because apparently most women only have one!! You must take it seriously and do as you are told in respect of taking things easier! All the very best to you and yours Valerie and take care, John and Norma.
PS. Have a lovely easy Christmas.
PPS Hope you have lots of good presents and all your family around you. I think having family around one at Christmas really makes a good Christmas. I love it. (And keep it quiet, but I still thing there is a Father Christmas). Someone keeps making lovely Christmases for me (?)

Sorry to hear about this Val - hope you are following instructions and taking it easy - and taking the pills! Just sit back and let someone else worry about Christmas for once. Hope you are soon back to your normal self.

Sorry to hear that Valerie, take it easy. My mum suffered a mini stroke back in the summer only we didn't know it at the time. It was picked up when she went to see her optician and they asked if she had any changes to her eyes and she said yes. The next thing she had to go for scan, ecg's etc. etc. I cried my eyes out when I heard the news (not in front of my mum) as it was a real shock.
Hope you have a restful Christmas. I'm cooking this year to give my Mum a rest.
Take care x

Must have been a big shock for you, but it's good that you were wizzed off to hospital immediately and receved the most appropriate treatment. You've obviously been sent a warning Val, and a timely reminder for you to take care of yourself. I know it's difficult to relax and sit back and let others to do things, especially when you have the worries of your mother's health on your mind, but at least you got out of of the Christmas cooking - I don't know! some people will do anything to avoid the Christmas chores!
Hope that you are soon feeling better. GG
