Best Birthday EVER

Just had email from my "grand-daughters".They are on holiday in their native Pakistan. The Australian Islamic Society have recently held their Inaugural Young Muslim Writers Awards & out of 100 entrants in her age group(13-16 years) the eldest,Zuha, has won not only her section but was voted the Writer of the Year. Not bad for 15 years old & having English as a second language.
Not only that but 2 of her younger sisters got awards for being top in their year exams & for coming 1st in the Queensland English exams.

I feel so proud of them.

You obviously do such good work with these youngsters for them to go on and do so well in competitions such as this writing award. I'm not surprised that you are proud. You should be exceedingly proud.

Thanks Gwyneth both for this & the birthday wishes on Facebook.Haven't got the hang of Facebook yet, hence the reply here.
As for being proud - I can sit in front of a wall all day & teach 'til I'm blue in the face -but that wall ain't gonna learn nuthin !! The kids have to WANT to learn & then do the hard work for themselves. It's them I'm proud of.
