Breathing a BIG!!! sigh of relief

My friends hubby had a huge heart attack 10 wks ago and has been in hospital ever since waiting on a transplant. All that was keeping him alive was a balloon pump to do the work for his heart.Because they had had to replace it several times due to complications they couldn't do it again and he either needed a new heart by the weekend just gone or they would need to implant what they call a vad which in our simple language means he would be battery operated.Well they didn't get a heart so he went through a 6 hour op yesterday and today they woke him up and he is sitting up for the 1st time in nearly 3 months and talking away quite the thing. He's only 47yrs so hats of to him for keeping his good sense of humour and coming through the op like a real trooper.

He still needs a new heart though but this op was the next best thing.

Hope all goes well for your friend's hubby. Great Xmas present to have him sitting up and laughing. Best wishes are sent to him and his family.
