Scary

We are getting blown to bits up here in Scotland. Quite frightening how severe this gale has been.

I woke at 6 this morning thinking my bedroom window was going to come in on top of me. The window was shut but the blinds were blowing about.

I've just seen a few comments on FB with people saying the wind is horrific.

Stay safe and I hope you dont have to go out at all today.
Sounds like a good day to stay inside and craft!!

It stretches down here to Lacashire as well - didn't sleep much last night for the rattling and blowing and this morning isn't a lot better

Its blowing a gale here in Cardiff. I've never known winds like this and I used to live in Cape Town S Africa where the winds could blow over a double decker bus.

They have been showing the beach just a few miles down the road from me on TV this lunchtime - I'm so grateful that I am relatively sheltered where I am.

Thinking of all those that are suffering the effects of the wind and rain.

I have only lost a bit of guttering and a part of my back fence so am really lucky. I live in the central belt of Scotland, between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

However, I look out my kitchen window to three lovely tall trees. They have been there since at least the 1940's maybe longer. Well one has gone. Blown over onto a neighbour's car and flattened it.

Stay safe and well everyone.

Margaret

Not been good here in Kent either. Trees coming down, trains cancelled and the Dartford crossing bridge closed all day due to the high winds.

Margaret it was really scary. My car was badly damaged when a ridge tile from next door fell onto the roof.I couldn't get in touch with my insurers as we have cable t.v and phone and they were all off.Not a great start to the year.

Had to go out mid afternoon to put the dog in safe in her kennel. The fencing of her doggy run had whipped about so much as to come loose at the gate end and the dog had made a bolt for it. Thankfully I heard her pushing her way out through the side gate of the garden and did a quick waddle outside to bring her back in before she got to far up the road. I've got no voice to call her but she did come to my whistle. My sister has spoken to my mother today and it seems a great big tree has come up in one of their fields - roots and all.

It sounds as if we're in for more of the same weather again, so keep in safe and warm everybody.
