Old Cards

I have cards that I've received for the last 10 - 20 years and have decided to have a good clear out and get rid of them. They are Christmas and birthday cards mainly. Obviously I'm keeping the ones received from my hubby.
Does anyone know of any charity I can send these cards to for recycling. I would hate for them to go to waste.
Would appreciate any info anyone can give me.
Thanks

I do know that Morrisons have a huge card recycle box where you can put all your old cards in! Other than that maybe local care homes where the residents can cut them up to make new cards? Or local schools for crafting with? Good luck

I'm in Aussie land but I'm sure it's the same in all countries.I take mine to the local kindergarten along with any of the larger scraps from my card-making for the little dears to re-create into cards for their Mums & Dads.Even the smallest scrap of glitter paper makes lots of little stars!!

Thanks to everyone who replied. And a big thanks for all your suggestions. I'm going to split them in half and take half to an old folks place and half to the local school.

I keep all the old cards that come into our family and any that are not kept as keepsakes are cut up to make toppers for new cards. I usually take these recycled cards up to my chapel then to sell for funds for the Sunday School. The bits that have been chopped off go out with the recycling stuff.

There are some very good suggestions there. My daughter is Deputy Manager of a Care Home for the elderly and she welcomes used Christmas Cards. The residents use these to make new cards and it is, apparently, good therapy. They enjoy making the cards and it is an enjoyment that keeps them occupied. At the same time they "socialise" with each other and reminisce about old times. It has been found that "Reminiscing" is also very good therapy.
PS. There is actally an organisation in Norfolk that take reminiscing very seriously and they take a large box of old items to Care Homes, containing such things as gas masks and old kitchen implements, Anything from an earlier age and the residents handle these items and reminisce, telling stories of how they remember using such items. I believe that the enjoyment they get from this has to be seen to be believed.
