HI Carmel Ann xx I don't have the pro, I just have the good old turn the handle yourself versionb hee hee , however, I know that Faith has the pro and she has said that at times it wont feed through properly, that it needs a littel gentle persuasion, I'm sure once Faith sobers up from her birthday soiree she'll pop in herself, For the 1 I have I did have to buy shims, but, this was only bewcause some dies, like for instance the spellbinders, emboss and cut, for them to emboss a rubber shim mat is recommended, I bought a pair, tried and failed miserably with them, so, instead I use some scrap paper and fold it in half, then in half again and it does the trick, you havbe to remember these companies are out to make money ansd will have you thinking you need " extras" when you might not, so, my advice, don't jump in and get the extras until you know you really have too xx I have also found that I'm able to buy a lot of really good dies much cheaper than the well known ones, try looking out for X cut, Nellie Snellen, Go Kreate etc, they are much cheaper and still do exactly the same job. Shop around , have a read at what others have to say and then once you've got all the info you need make your choice TC Diane xx

thank you

I wanted the pro version as I have a cuttlebug but do bigger cards now and would like to do more on a larger scale and that has.I have looked at the purple one that is on create and craft but it looks very flimsy!I am going to see if the person who was selling it last year is still ther when I go to stamparama and ally pally and hope to maybe have a try of it also...then finally will be able to spend my money...keep talking my self out of it, but then think how nice it owuld be to do things symetrical on my big cards (useless at straight line even with a cutter!!

Hi Carmel....I'm afraid Diane has it all wrong...It is not the pro that I have bit the electric bigshot which was getting to be more trouble than it is worth. But I finally tracked down new cutting pads and that has helped......The grand calibre is all the rage now as you can do bigger diecuts on that and it is also a bit less bulky looking that the pro.Joanna sheen and crafters companion do the packages for the calibre at a pretty reasonable price the only thing you need to add is the pink matt that you need for putting embossing folders through.....Joanna sheen probably has the best price as there is no p+p.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I have the Pro, saved last year and worked at the NEC to save the last bit It is massive on my desk and managed to get some dies that were reduced to £10 for it from Sizzix site.. but i got the machine and the upsell kit with the shims and extra bits, it cost another £30 approx but has the base bit in as well so you can switch dies.. I have to be veryhonest here, i was soooo excited getting it, but i am still using y big shot for the normal size dies, as the pro is so big and takes a mass of space up to use, its very heavy and i get static shocks from the metal base when cutting, but it is AWESOME just wish they do a few more dies... hope i've helped xxx
