Bit of a shock!

Well that's actually an understatement, got one hell of a shock yesterday!
Don't see my younger brother on a regular basis, as my family all live down in the Huddersfield area. But for some reason last night, I decided to ring him, to see if he was ok.

At 9.30 on Wednesday evening, he was sat relaxing in his own home with the dogs, fortunately his wife was at work, when 3 men burst in. 1 held him at gunpoint with a shot gun, while the other 2 ransacked the whole house and took all the light valuables they could find. They forced him to reveal the safe combination and took its contents too.

They didn't hurt him, but as you can imagine he's in a bit of a state of shock. Fortunately he still has his great sense of humour and was most peeved he couldn't have a can of lager for his nerves, as they'd taken those out of the fridge!!

I just feel so angry towards the offenders, that they can put people through such ordeals. Couldn't sleep last night for thinking about it.

Gosh Janet, what a shock for anyone, your poor brother, did they force their way in? I am so pleased he was not hurt.

The door was unlocked Angela, as his wife was at work and it was 9.30 in the evening. They just opened the door and ran in!.
It's just totally unbelievable!

Thats why it makes me so mad that people are only allowed to use a certain amount of force for intruders, mind you faced with a gun I probobly wouldnt use any force myself although if Jack was threatened adreniline would probobly take over.

Hope they catch these evil people and hope your brother recovers from his ordeal.

Thanks Amanda
I can't stop thinking about it. My brother said he was amazed really at how calm he was during the ordeal. It was only after, that the shock kicked in.
He had to keep calm to keep the dogs calm, as the gunman threatened to kill the dogs if he didn't keep them quiet.

Gosh I would have had an awful time keeping Otto calm as he would have lept at them and would have been hurt, it is horrifying to think about it.
